How to make: Thumbs up potato Chips

Good morning everybody! This is my first time posting a recipe post so bare with me as I run around all these learning curves!

I am in no way a professional chef. it makes me giggle even to think that anyone would think that.
I am a experimenter and this blog will be for the experiments that actually go well :) .

Alrighty, so lets get to it!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • A SERRATED POTATO PEELER
  • PAPER TOWELS OR NAPKINS
  • A FRYING PAN
  • POTATOES
  • VEGETABLE OIL
  • SALT
  • FLAVORING (Optional I used a Ramen noodle Packet)

Now, I dont know if the serrated part is necessary but i thiught it added a little bit of awesome to the chips.

If you would like to get one, I saved you the Amazon search and found one that is less than $10 with 4 1/2 stars

What i would do first is pour the oil into your pan. I made it about an inch deep and set the heat to medium. then peel peel peel! (as a side note if you clean the potatoes before you start peeling, you can use the skin too!)

Below is a foggy yet good example of what the peels should look like.

Then comes the fun part!
FRY BABY FRY!

(To test and see if the oil is hot enough, get your hand wet and drip some water in. If the oil gets mad, its ready!)<<<<<HUMOR! ALWAYS BE CAREFUL WHEN DEALING WITH HOT OIL!

One at a time put the potato peels into the pan,
VERY CAREFUL! YOU ARE DEALING WITH HOT OIL!!
then you wait.....

once you see some browning on the edges.....
KEEP WAITING!
until the middle is no longer paper white.
then as fast as you can GET THEM OUT!
after they are done they can go bad faster than a banana in the freezer!

Put the finished product onto a paper towel covered plate

sprinkle some salt and any flavor you would like onto the chips

take the corners of the paper towel and bring them together, making a little baggy

shake shake shake!

and Viola! you made chips!

Legal stuffs:
(I am not responsible if you hurt yourself while trying to make Chips)
(I do get some commission if u buy the peeler)
